The protagonists
I conducted interviews with a total of thirteen participants on the tour. There are young and older people, Germans, Australians, one participant from Austria and one from Serbia, men and women, who all have one thing in common: Their very own and individually very different ideas and attitudes towards TID, so that the diversity of the tour, the coexistence and togetherness of the most diverse people on this journey is told in a captivating and exciting way by the participants themselves.

He knows the Danube from many summer trips with friends in rubber dinghies and kayaks. In 2013, he joined the TID to finally reach the sea.

The five high school graduates took advantage of the long summer after school and rowed in “Käptn Blaubär”, a five-seater, from Ingolstadt to the Black Sea.

Helen Jacobsohn und Vicki Matthews

Two competitive athletes who have been beating everyone to the punch, who have been coming back to Europe for years to take part in the TID, and who fulfilled their dream of riding the entire route together in 2013.
