»International understanding works quite well...« A film about the Tour International Danubia

2,516 kilometers from Ingolstadt to the Black Sea, eight countries and the Danube, Europe’s second largest river, in 90 minutes. 13 men and women who covered this distance in kayaks, using only their own muscle power, in two and a half months, in rain and storms, in heat and thunderstorms, talk about their experiences. Why do you take on such an effort? How does it feel to sit in a boat and paddle for 70 days, for hours on end, day after day, week after week?
A film that aims to make the efforts and challenges for the participants, the landscape and nature of the Danube and the great charm of this very special journey vividly and sensually tangible, a film that wants to show what it means to embark on a journey of more than two months that demands everything from its participants and rewards them with unforgettable impressions.

The film – just like the tour itself – is intended to arouse interest in our neighbors in Central and Southeastern Europe and to show how much we are connected by this river that flows through half the continent. For this reason, it is subtitled in the languages of the Danube riparian states – German, Slovakian and Hungarian, Croatian, Serbian and Romanian, in Bulgarian and Ukrainian, but also in English and Romani – so that all TID participants and all interested parties on both sides of the Danube can watch this film.
